Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Sandar collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Your email and password (hashed, never stored in plain text), the listening activity needed to run the service (play counts, quotas, favourites, playlists), and a device identifier used only to enforce concurrent-stream limits on paid plans.
Payment data
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. Sandar never sees or stores your card details.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and an anonymous cookie to apply free-tier limits before you register. Neither is used by us for advertising tracking. Advertising cookies set by third parties are covered in the next section.
Advertising
Sandar shows advertising on some pages to keep the free tier free.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Sandar and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Subscribers on Sandar Plus and Family see no advertising.
Third parties we use
We rely on a small number of providers to run Sandar: Stripe for subscription payments, an email delivery service for account messages such as verification codes and password resets, Amazon S3 for media storage, and Google for advertising as described above. Each handles data under its own policy.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account is active. To delete your account and the data associated with it, email sandar@sandar.live from the address on the account.
Children
Sandar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Registration requires someone old enough to form a binding agreement in their country.
Sandar does offer a Kids Mode, which a Family plan owner can switch on for a member of their family. It is a content restriction within an existing account — it limits that member to audio only, with no video — and not a separate children's product or a separate kind of account.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
